About the job

Are you passionate about creating education and employment pathways for young parents?

We are looking for someone who is keen to think outside the box to help young mums and dads develop and pursue education and work goals that work for them.

This will include finding the supports and resources in our community – or developing new ones – that make it possible for young parents to succeed in whatever education and employment pathways appeal to them.

You’ll be part of an integrated team that incorporates Family Resource Practitioners, a Counsellor, a Housing Specialist and a Connections (Peer Support) Coordinator, all focused on backing young families to thrive.

You’ll get to apply your knowledge of supporting at risk young people, while also building our team’s knowledge of opportunities for the parents they support. You’ll work with local schools, training providers, services and employers to identify and develop flexible pathways for young parents.

This is not a job for a KPI-focused reverse marketer or employment services consultant. It’s a job for someone who wants to support individual young people to progress in life, recognising the challenges they face and always focusing on their unique goals and strengths.

YFS is a leader in Youth Services in the Logan, Redlands and surrounding areas. Our integrated approach is designed to deliver better outcomes for our young people. In this role, you will collaborate with other teams across our range of services including alcohol and other drugs services, transition from care programs, youth justice, housing and legal services. This also means there are great opportunities to develop your skills and career.

About us

At YFS, we make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable people living in the Logan and surrounding areas. And we want our staff to thrive, too. So we offer great opportunities to develop your career.

We’re serious about your professional development. Half of our managers have been employed from within. And we empower each other to make decisions and try new ways of working.

We know that a happy workplace thrives. We recognise that staff have their own needs, so we encourage you to bring the entire you to work. Depending on your role, we support flexible work arrangements.

We also offer great employment benefits including above-average pay rates, generous salary packaging (exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax) and counselling support.
