More than just a job—this is a chance to lead with purpose and create meaningful impact in the lives of others. Join Churches of Christ in Queensland where your leadership in people and culture will play a pivotal role in enhancing outcomes for both the communities served and the dedicated staff who make it all possible.

About the Organisation

Churches of Christ is proud to provide help, care and home to more than 25,000 Australians across 100 communities each year. With almost 4,000 employees across Queensland, we're an experienced not-for-profit provider of retirement & aged care, foster & kinship care, family & youth support, social housing and Christian faith services.

Guided by the light of Christ, we've been there for thousands of Australians who've needed our compassion and care for more than 100 years.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, and as a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be at the heart of leading the people and culture team and supporting the Executive Leadership Team on all matters related to the people who are the backbone of the organisation. Your leadership will shape strategic workforce solutions, streamline processes, and foster an environment of collaboration, care, and accountability, all while upholding the core mission and values that guide everything we do.

This is not just about managing processes – it’s about creating a workplace where every individual feels valued and supported. We are seeking a compassionate HR leader who not only excels in leadership, workforce planning, and employee engagement but who also believes in the power of people to transform the organisation and the communities we serve. You will lead a diverse team, championing HR delivery, employment relations, and the health, safety, and well-being of our people, ensuring that every team member thrives and that the work makes a meaningful impact.

About You

You will bring your deep expertise in human resources, not just as a professional advisor but as a trusted partner committed to the well-being of the workforce. You will guide executive leaders on HR operational strategies, ensuring that both strategic goals and the welfare of people are at the forefront of every decision.

With a strong foundation in employment legislation and HR policy development, you’ll thrive in times of change, implementing innovative workforce strategies that inspire growth, adaptability, and unity. Your leadership will empower teams, creating an environment where individuals feel valued, supported, and driven to achieve their best.

More than just an HR leader, you are a compassionate communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to engage with diverse stakeholders and foster a sense of belonging. Your commitment to creating a best-practice, employee-first culture will be integral to their mission. With a heart aligned with the values of Christianity, you will lead with empathy and purpose, ensuring the organisation’s work remains both impactful and grounded in its core values.
