About the position

This role will lead the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) arrangements within YSAS in consultation with the General Manager, Human Resources. This role is responsible for developing, streamlining and monitoring OHS systems and processes to support compliance and a healthy and safe environment for all YSAS people and activities, ensuring risks are identified and appropriately managed.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Develop and implement the OHS Management System involving OHS policies, procedures, plans, and structures.
  • Provide expert OHS technical advice, guidance, and support.
  • Lead and manage the development and delivery of proactive and sustainable health & wellbeing initiatives.
  • Conduct site safety audits, incident investigations, incident trend analysis, identify and report on trends and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain systems for hazard identification, near miss, and incident reporting, including compiling data and coordinating corrective actions;
  • Manage workers compensation claims, the return to work and injury management process for the organisation.
