ABOUT THIS ROLE

YWCA Australia is currently seeking a passionate Community Housing Officer to join our Housing Team in our Townsville office. This is a permanent part-time role offered at 15 hours per week.

The role is essential in maintaining resident tenancies by:

• maintaining tenancy systems
• undertaking data collection
• providing advice and information to residents
• visiting all residents on a quarterly basis

ABOUT YOU

The ideal applicant will have:

• Experience in the community housing sector, or property related industry ensuring familiarity with tenancy management practices and procedures, RTA legislation, maintenance, tenancy agreements, budget and administrative processes in an office environment
• A clear understanding of the state Residential Tenancies Act
• An awareness, understanding and sensitivity to homelessness issues and the ability and experience to communicate with a diversity of people from various cultures

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements. This includes:

• Completion of a national criminal history check
• A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.
