About us

Zonta House Refuge Association (Zonta House) is a specialist provider of family and domestic violence (FDV) services. Our purpose, values and services have been informed through 40 years of experience, the needs of women in our community and research in leading practice.

Zonta House provides a suite of services for women experiencing FDV that reinforce one another and represent the core of Zonta House’s work. That is, when the voices of women are heard, our responses uphold dignity, builds on safety, and challenges the drivers of abuse. Victim/Survivors of FDV are able to access responsive and person-centred support based on their needs to build a future free from abuse.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual who is driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of people with disabilities affected by family, domestic and sexual violence.

The Diversity & Inclusion Senior Advocate will provide holistic and streamlined throughcare support for people with disabilities accessing our accommodation and outreach services. This role will work collaboratively with other programs, provide guidance and assistance within the organisation, and act as a disability advocate.

The D&I Senior Advocate will focus on enhancing the capabilities of both specialist and mainstream workforces to identify and respond effectively to family and domestic violence involving people with disabilities. This role will also have responsibility for the supervision of a Disability D&I Advocate in the program.

This is a full-time position on a fixed-term contract until June 2026, with the possibility of an extension. This role will be based in Bentley with some travelling required across the Perth Metropolitan.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Disability Support or a related discipline at a degree, diploma, or certificate level.
  2. Comprehensive experience in disability support roles in residential care, community-based services, day programs, or employee support services for people with disabilities
  3. Experience working with individuals who have experienced family, domestic and sexual violence, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and/or crises in their lives.
  4. Knowledge of adhering to organisational contractual obligations including, outcomes-based model and client measurement tools.
  5. Experience working collaboratively with other organisation in formal and informal partnerships to achieve client outcomes.
  6. Specialist experience and strong knowledge of using Risk Assessment and Safety Plans.
  7. Experience working within a Case Management framework and developing and reviewing support plans.
  8. An ability to provide holistic support using a Strengths-Based Therapy approach and trauma-informed practice.
  9. Expert knowledge of referral pathways and community services; and demonstrate an ability to provide clients with high-quality service and appropriate referrals.
  10. Demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills, active listening, empathy, and social awareness in verbal communication.

The successful candidate will need to possess:

  • National Police Clearance Certificate
  • Working with Children's Card
  • WA driver's license with good driving records
