CareerSeekers is a non-profit certified social enterprise that works with leading employers to create paid professional internship opportunities for people from refugee backgrounds. We help unlock the power of professional employment for refugees while helping employers to deliver meaningful diversity. We work with both experienced professionals eager to reignite their career in Australia (Mid-Career program) and university students seeking a pathway to graduate employment (University Student program).
We are a pragmatic and professional organisation that achieves outstanding results both for participants and employers. Over 90% of participants in our programs secure ongoing professional employment, working with around 80 of Australia’s most well known employers.
This role supports both the Mid-Career program and the University Student program.
The Advisor role is key to ensuring CareerSeekers delivers positive experiences and beneficial outcomes for our participants and employment partners.
Advisors support a caseload of participants as they progress through the CareerSeekers program. They also work closely with managers of interns to make sure they are equipped to host their interns. Advisors may also work with central human resources contacts for some smaller employment partner relationships.
This role is a full time role, but a part time position will be considered for the right candidate.
This role reports to the Program Director of the Mid-Career program with dotted line responsibility to the Program Manager of the Student program. You will work closely with a team of other Advisors and Seniors Advisors.
This is a rewarding role with a successful and growing purpose-driven organisation, and part of a small and close-knit team.
The role provides an opportunity to have real, tangible impact on the lives of people from a refugee background aspiring to a professional career. Be inspired by the life journeys of the amazing people in our program, work with our corporate partners supporting their leading diversity and inclusion initiatives and build your professional network.
This role is SCHCADS Level 3.3.
CareerSeekers staff also receive professional development opportunities, competitive remuneration with NFP salary packaging benefits and annual leave loading.
