This is a full-time minimum 12-month fixed term position living and working in Alice Springs, Central Australia and will include some travel to remote communities in the NPY Lands.
Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council was founded by and is led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, they continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence-based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.

As the Anangu Employment & Development Officer you will be responsible for supporting Anangu to transition successfully into employment with NPYWC by providing mentoring and support on the ground.
The successful candidate will have a community development approach, be a natural relationship builder and display excellent communication skills, particularly as a cross-cultural liaison. In addition, they will hold a relevant qualification in areas such as Training and Employment Services, Youth Work, Human Resources, Community Development or Business Administration and ideally would have previous experience working at a similar level within remote or regional communities.
The personal qualities for this position includes social inclusion, compassion, resilience and determination. You will have a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement and development, with the ability to engage, listen and deliver excellent client service.
