Fitted for Work help women across Australia experiencing disadvantage find work, keep work, and navigate through working life with success. We’re a not-for-profit based in Melbourne helping women through a range of services on a national scale.

We do this through a range of job readiness services such as resume and cover letter review, interview practice, outfitting services, self-confidence building, mentoring and more.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Job Hub team are responsible for providing clients with the tools, knowledge and skills required to effectively navigate the current jobs market. A number of services, workshops and one-on-one appointments are offered through the Job Hub which aim to teach, guide and motivate clients to be job ready, apply for suitable roles, undertake interviews and build their confidence as they step into new employment opportunities.

Our Job Hub supports clients to create and enhance their resume and cover letter, apply for jobs, and learn about interviewing processes (including mock interview practice). Each client is given tailored support based on their personal circumstances, employment experience, technology access and other competencies and abilities.

The Job Hub Employment Specialist is responsible for delivering job readiness appointments to clients to enhance their skills and confidence in applying for and securing work. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Work with clients to educate, inform, coach and motivate them in their job search journey
  • Maintain accurate client records to support clients progress through the job search journey
  • Help to create the best client experience by adhering and contributing to service delivery goals

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a strong communicator who is passionate about supporting women and gender diverse people looking for work. Our ideal candidate thrives in an ever-changing environment where no two days are the same, and is able to think on their feet. They will also have the employment services knowledge needed to provide high quality job readiness services for our clients. Excellent technology skills are essential.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience working within an employment, human resources, recruitment or careers environment. Experience in a Client Service or Customer Service role is also highly favourable.
  • Competent in using computer packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power-Point, and varied methods of telephone and video communications.
  • It is desirable there has been previous experience in giving feedback/advice on job applications (including Key Selection Criteria), job seeking documents (Resumes and Cover Letters) and interview skills and techniques.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check required (Employee)
  • Current Police Check required
