Together for Change is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Human Rights Advocates. This role is pivotal in reaching out to organisations, advising them on integrating human rights into their business practices, and organising events and campaigns to address major ongoing human rights issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Outreach and Advisory:

  • Reach out to organisations to promote the integration of human rights into their business operations.
  • Provide expert advice on human rights issues, with a focus on structural racism, discrimination, and their impacts on marginalized communities.
  • Develop and deliver presentations on various human rights topics to diverse audiences.

Event and Campaign Management:

  • Organise and coordinate events and campaigns that highlight and address human rights issues.
  • Plan and execute events focused on structural racism, discrimination, and other relevant topics affecting Indigenous people, women, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Business Development:

  • Support the expansion of Together for Change's business portfolios through strategic outreach and relationship building.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to collaborate with businesses and other organisations committed to human rights.

Advocacy and Education:

  • Advocate for policies and practices that promote human rights within various organisations.
  • Educate stakeholders on the importance of human rights and provide practical solutions for integration into business practices.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background and knowledge of major ongoing human rights issues, particularly structural racism and discrimination.
  • Proven experience in organising events, campaigns, and presentations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for human rights and commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
  • Current police check and working with children (WWC) clearance.

  • Experience in advocacy, non-profit, or related fields is a plus.
