About Women’s Health Matters (WHM):

Women’s Health Matters is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of anyone who identifies as a woman in the ACT and surrounding region. We focus on advocating for women, especially those facing disadvantage and vulnerability. Our work centres on gender equity, particularly addressing the health impacts of gendered violence and systemic inequalities.

The Role:

The Director Corporate and Business Development is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for overseeing the corporate functions of WHM and ensuring our long-term sustainability. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide operational leadership across human resources, financial management, and strategic communications. This role also focuses on driving funding growth, exploring new revenue streams, and ensuring organisational governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Management & Governance: Lead day-to-day corporate operations, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while supporting strategic objectives.
  • Human Resources: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations, fostering an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
  • Financial Management: Lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the organisation’s financial health and compliance.
  • Funding Growth & Sustainability: Work closely with the CEO to identify and secure new funding opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Policy Development & Implementation: Develop and review organisational policies, ensuring best practices and alignment with WHM’s mission.
  • Strategic Communications: Oversee the management of WHM’s website, external communications, and stakeholder engagement strategies.

About You:

You are an experienced leader with a strong background in corporate or HR management, financial oversight, and governance. You are passionate about advocating for gender equity and empowering women in the community. Your financial acumen, leadership skills, and strategic thinking will be critical in driving WHM’s operational success and sustainability.
