Endometriosis Australia is a nationally accredited charity committed to raising awareness, funding research, and educating the public about endometriosis. Established in 2012, Endometriosis Australia has emerged as a peak body in advocating for education, research and fundraising. Our goal is to improve the understanding and awareness of endometriosis to help those affected by the disease.
Position Overview
The Fundraising and Philanthropy Manager will play a key role in driving Endometriosis Australia’s fundraising efforts. This position is responsible for driving the growth and sustainability of fundraising income, with a focus on major giving, corporate partnerships, community fundraising and donor engagement. Together with the General Manager, this role will plan, develop and execute fundraising activity to support Endometriosis Australia’s mission and goals, ensuring long term sustainability and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Planning, Execution and Collaboration:
- Develop and execute annual fundraising plan with a focus on major gifts, corporate partnerships and mass fundraising.
- Manage supplier relationships to coordinate and deliver key mass fundraising campaigns throughout the year.
- Work closely with CEO, Board of Directors, and Marketing and Fundraising Committee to identify and cultivate new donor prospects.
Fundraising Campaigns:
- Coordinate the development, planning, and execution of fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, community fundraising initiatives, content and case study development and digital fundraising.
- Work with community groups to coordinate logistics for fundraising events and ensure they are executed successfully.
- Collaborate with the broader team to develop compelling fundraising materials and donor communications.
Business Development and Relationship Management:
- Identify and pursue new opportunities that align with Endometriosis Australia strategic priorities.
- Develop proposals and reporting requirements working collaboratively with the internal team to deliver outcomes.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with individual donors, philanthropic and corporate partners, and foundations.
- Plan, develop and execute donor stewardship activities, including thank-you calls, acknowledgment letters, and impact reports.
- Maintain accurate donor records and ensure timely follow-up and communication.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Manage the annual fundraising budget including fundraising targets and expenditure. .
- Monitor fundraising income, report on performance, and provide regular updates to the General Manager on progress and challenges.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of fundraising legislation and guidelines within Australia.
- Maintain and update the donor database with accurate and detailed information on donors, donations, and interactions.
- Generate regular reports on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and campaign performance.
- Analyse fundraising data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Collaboration & Team Support:
- Work closely with broader team ensure alignment between fundraising goals and mission needs and activities.
- Provide administrative support to the broader team as needed, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or philanthropy, preferably within the NFP sector
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with donor management software (e.g., Raisley, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends, with a passion for nonprofit work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to the mission of Endometriosis Australia and a desire to make a meaningful impact.
Desirable:
- Experience working with agency suppliers
- Familiarity with digital fundraising platforms and tools.
- Knowledge of endometriosis or women’s health issues.
- CRM experience ie salesforce, hubspot
